Duke (Brigantine) logbook, 1748.

The logbook of the brigantine Duke details a shipping voyage from Whitehaven, England, to the Orkney Islands, and Goteborg, Sweden, April-Sept. 1748. The voyage was captained by John Willson, and the logbook keeper was probably John Thompson. Included in the logbook are inventories of cargo, navigation exercises, and information regarding the salvage of a cargo of flax.
